Preoperative Instructions for Patients Undergoing Intravenous Anesthesia (I.V.):

1. You may not have anything to eat or drink for eight (8) hours prior to the appointment with the exception of a sip of water to take any prescribed medications.
   
   
2. A responsible adult driver must accompany the patient to the office and remain in the office during the procedure. The patient must be supervised for the first 8 hours or longer as necessary. 
   
   
3. The patient should not drive a vehicle, operate any machinery or make any important decisions for 24 hours following I.V. anesthesia. 
   
   
4. Please wear loose fitting clothing with short sleeves (above the elbow), and low-heeled shoes. Contact lenses, jewelry, and dentures must be removed at the time of surgery.
