Ridge Expansion Coeur D’Alene

Ridge Expansion

The loss of a tooth or multiple teeth is something that can make us feel less confident, less attractive and can prematurely age us, but more than that, it can cause even more serious issues such as a receding jawbone. Through Ridge Expansion, an advanced dental procedure, your jawline can be corrected and made to look more natural. If much time has passed since the tooth or teeth were lost and the teeth have not be replaced the ridge can atrophy and become too thin, so the ridge expansion is often necessary to strengthen the existing bone to be able to give it a good enough foundation to place in your dental implants.

The Ridge Expansion is performed by first grafting bone to your existing ridge. This bone graft will often then need to heal and mature for a few months before the implant can be placed, though sometimes the implants may be put in at the same time. If you are interested in learning more about Ridge Expansion and to find out if it may be right for you, contact our office to schedule your consultation with Dr. Daniel Cullum.
